Earlier today, Martin attended the parliamentary launch of Diabetes UK’s "Type 1 Tipping Point" campaign. The event celebrated major milestones in diabetes research, including the recent NHS rollout of teplizumab, the very first immunotherapy treatment for type 1 diabetes.
The campaign highlights the massive potential of combining immunotherapies, screening, and beta cell therapies to tackle the root causes of type 1 diabetes, with the ultimate goal of restoring the body's ability to produce insulin. During the event, Martin met with organizers and researchers to discuss how the UK can solidify its position as a world leader in life sciences by continuing to back these medical innovations.
