Yesterday, Martin attended an event in Parliament to mark the launch of a report titled: Beyond Face Value: Unmasking the Impact of Migraine.
This new report highlights the under recognised personal, clinical, and economic burden of migraine, and calls on the government for stronger national action on the issue.
The report also states that, despite being the second most prevalent neurological disorder globally in 2021, migraine remains misunderstood and under prioritised.
One in seven people in the UK live with migraine and it is the third most common form of disability in the under 50s worldwide.
The event in Parliament was an opportunity for health system leaders and patient representatives to raise awareness of migraine as a significant productivity and health challenge and to explore how we can collectively reduce its impact on individuals and the wider economy.
